With the pressure of upcoming SATs and choosing a secondary school, this can be a daunting time for Year 5 and 6 students. CSF tuition offers general support with the KS2 curriculum as well more specific requests such as English SATs (comprehension, spelling and grammar), as well as preparation for the KS3 English classroom, building confidence ready for when they begin their journey in Year 7.

At KS3 English, English tuition covers aspects of English Language and English Literature using a range of fiction and non-fiction texts, with an underlying aim to harness a love of reading and language appreciation in even the most reluctant learners! Tuition can have a general focus covering reading and writing of all genres to cover a wide span of the KS3 curriculum, or it can focus on particular areas that the learner wishes to work on.

Tuition at KS4 covers both English Literature and English Language GCSEs therefore sessions can focus on both or just one area of English, depending on what is best for the learner. Having taught and been an examiner for a range of GCSE exam boards, tuition can be tailored to the exam board the learner’s school is using, working with their specifications and mark schemes to ensure consistency between private tuition and school.

As an examiner for AQA and WJEC, I am familiar with a variety of GCSE exam specifications and have had access to additional training through the exam boards. This allows me to support learners to achieve their GCSE goals by advising on the key elements examiners look out for and how they can most easily and effectively boost their grade. 

Tuition is also available for English GCSE re-sit students on a one to one or group basis.

Tuition is currently being offered online for both group and one to one sessions using Zoom which allows for both tutor and student interaction, ensuring lessons are engaging and students can complete live tasks.
